Meat and Fish Sellers Earnings at Ciracas Market Increasing

The earnings of meat and fish sellers at Ciracas Market, East Jakarta are increasing during Ramadan. Many of residents came to market to buy meat or fish as sahur (predawn meal) and breakfasting menu.

It increases 100 percent compared to usual days

One of fish sellers, Udin (42), admitted he sold 200 kilograms of catfishes in a day. Then Nila, Mujair, and Patin by 50 kilograms per day.

"It increases 100 percent compared to usual days. Thanks for the Ramadan month which full of blessings," he said, Tuesday (3/12).

He added that catfish is sold Rp 28,000 per kilogram, Nila Rp 38,000 per kilogram, Mujair and Patin Rp 35,000 per kilogram.

"Those fishes are favorite menu during Ramadan. That's why sellers are mostly sold those fishes," he added.

Meanwhile, one of beef sellers, Rahmat (45), stated consumers started to flock his kiosk just before Ramadan.

"Many of customers bought more than one kilogram," he stated.

The price for pure meat which is usually for stews is Rp 140,000 per kilogram, rib meat Rp 90,000 per kilogram, and regular bone meat Rp 80,000 per kilogram.

"The price is still stable since a week ago," he stated.

One of customers at Ciracas Market, Nia (38), admitted meat, fish, and chicken are main menu for Ramadan.

"Those are my children's favorite menu for sahur or breakfasting," she admitted.
